Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Luisão Vides started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the game, Athletico Paranaense's Luisão Vides nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jarbas Coelho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Duarte Veiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Coelho having to interfere. Athletico Paranaense's Luisão Vides got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 21st minute Duarte Veiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarbas Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Duarte Veiga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jarbas Coelho. Coady SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Duarte Veiga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Zé Augusto de Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Edgard de Brito made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as William Viana kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Edgard de Brito. That made the score 1-2 in the 31 minute of play. Zé Augusto de Queiróss short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Edgard de Brito to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Zé Augusto de Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Coady SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Augusto de Queirós couldn't finish the play. Athletico Paranaense's Edgard de Brito proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Athletico Paranaense from getting a goal against them. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. William Viana was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Zé Augusto de Queirós got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edgard de Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Augusto de Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zé Augusto de Queirós blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edgard de Brito having to make a save. 58 minutes into the game, Luisão Vides was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Athletico Paranaense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coady SC the free kick. Luisão Vides hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. William Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Coady SC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Gernando Tepedino hit a great ball. After 64 played minutes Coady SC got a freekick which was hit by Edinho Lucas. Duarte Veiga struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Jarbas Coelho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Athletico Paranaense. 72 minutes into the match, Athletico Paranaense's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Augusto de Queirós came free, but Edgard de Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Zé Augusto de Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgard de Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William Viana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Athletico Paranaense's Sandro Garcia got a free kick in the 77th minute. Zé Augusto de Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgard de Brito having to interfere. Edgard de Brito stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zé Augusto de Queirós's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Athletico Paranaense's Edgard de Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Augusto de Queirós in the 91st minute of play. Duarte Veiga was extremely unlucky when he, in the 92nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Jarbas Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisão Vides in the 93rd minute of play. Athletico Paranaense's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
