Camboata EC's Carlos Eduardo Dias proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Camboata EC from getting a goal against them. If Naldo Dracena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 6th minute, Cláudio Paranaense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 9thth minute of the game Naldo Dracena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Camboata EC's Carlos Eduardo Dias was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cláudio Paranaense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Eduardo Dias having to interfere. If Cláudio Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomás Veloso charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thomás Veloso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 17th match minute, Varzinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomás Veloso to maneuver through the defense. In the 18th minute of the match Francisco Simões shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luiz Fernando das Neves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Carlos Eduardo Dias made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Cláudio Paranaense sent off a good shot on target. In the 26th minute, Diamantino Simões hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28thth minute of the game Naldo Dracena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Camboata EC's Carlos Eduardo Dias was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 32 minutes, Diamantino Simões mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Camboata EC and the Varzinha players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Camboata EC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Diamantino Simões hit a great ball. If Jânio Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When César Paraense came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Camboata EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that César Paraense couldn't finish the play. César Paraense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fernando das Neves having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for César Paraense to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zézinho Leão got free with Luiz Fernando das Neves in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. César Paraense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Luiz Fernando das Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Camboata EC's goal looked a bit too open when Naldo Dracena came free, but Carlos Eduardo Dias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diamantino Simões kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. If Zézinho Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Naldo Dracena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlos Eduardo Dias having to make a save. Camboata EC's Carlos Eduardo Dias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cláudio Paranaense in the 71st minute of play. In the 75th minute, Cláudio Paranaense ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlos Eduardo Dias was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After having played for 79 minutes, Naldo Dracena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varzinha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Naldo Dracena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Naldo Dracena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Carlos Eduardo Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcelo Jacinto charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcelo Jacinto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Camboata EC's Marcelo Jacinto got a free kick in the 86th minute. Cláudio Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 89 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Naldo Dracena sped through Camboata EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Carlos Eduardo Dias. Carlos Eduardo Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Naldo Dracena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Varzinha had played much better football throughout.
