The Mandiroba fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Mandiroba's Renatinho Vale got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Reinhard Isele received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Edson Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edson Massa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renatinho Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 17th minute Victor Cardozo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valdomiro do Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo de Toledo having to interfere. Valdomiro do Vale didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-2 via right post in the game's 21st minute. Piassava SC's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! After a rather tough play, Piassava SC's Luiz Paulo Baiano got a free kick in the 30th minute. A collision led to Mandiroba getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Guto Zilles hit a great ball. When Renatinho Vale came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Mandiroba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renatinho Vale couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Fábio Tande during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 41 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Piassava SC! Vitório Galvão shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. If Reinhard Isele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Reinhard Isele made a kick off. Reinhard Isele received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Edson Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ulf Hård could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Edson Massa made a huge save. The supporters of Mandiroba booed when Piassava SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kiko Cordeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustavo de Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Gustavo de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Cardozo in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th minute Valdomiro do Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustavo de Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdomiro do Vale in the 74th minute of the match. Renatinho Vale struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Edson Massa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mandiroba. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinhard Isele in the 86th minute of play forced Piassava SC's goalkeeper Edson Massa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute, Victor Cardozo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Mandiroba's Gustavo de Toledo didn't even have to move. Gustavo de Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Cardozo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mandiroba's Gustavo de Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Paulo Baiano in the 95th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinhard Isele in the 96th minute of play forced Piassava SC's goalkeeper Edson Massa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mandiroba were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
