Ermida's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guaraciama SS the free kick. The supporters of Guaraciama SS booed when Ermida was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adhemar Mumbach didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Nando Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Guaraciama SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nando Amorim couldn't finish the play. Clemente Romero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Pedrão Maciel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Nando Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Guaraciama SS fans jumped to their feet. Guaraciama SS's Cássio Moreno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aníbal Palmeira in the 15th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nando Amorim got free with Pedrão Maciel in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, Pedrão Maciel successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a rather tough play, Ermida's Adhemar Mumbach got a free kick in the 22nd minute. A long shot from Oswaldo Brasil in the 24th minute of play was well struck, but Pedrão Maciel made a really good save at the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Anísio Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ermida's supporters rose to their feet, but Anísio Pombal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cássio Moreno breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Nando Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute, Albertinho Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Clemente Romero might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedrão Maciel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Clemente Romero ran back to his position shaking his head. Clemente Romero charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Clemente Romero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anísio Pombal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Erivaldo Catarinense fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guaraciama SS's protests and gave Erivaldo Catarinense a yellow card for diving instead. Nando Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrão Maciel having to interfere. Ermida's Pedrão Maciel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clemente Romero in the 58th minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Anísio Pombal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cássio Moreno. Guaraciama SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anísio Pombal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After 67 minutes, Aníbal Palmeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ermida and the Guaraciama SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 67th minute, Aníbal Palmeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 76 minutes, Clemente Romero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guaraciama SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clemente Romero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anísio Pombal got free with Cássio Moreno in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Clemente Romero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrão Maciel having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Guaraciama SS's Nando Amorim sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedrão Maciel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pedrão Maciel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nando Amorim in the 87th minute of the match. When Guaraciama SS's Nando Amorim in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Pedrão Maciel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Guaraciama SS walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
