In the 3rd match minute, Chure was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeferson Furtado to maneuver through the defense. Marquinhos Paiva struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Alexsandro Vidal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chure. Gustavo Dias's late challenge caught a Chure's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gustavo Dias helped the player get up and apologised. Délio Cardoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alexsandro Vidal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Frederico Gonçalves went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Alexsandro Vidal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Délio Cardoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Alexsandro Vidal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 34 minutes into the match, Dragões do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Jeferson Furtado came free, but Alexsandro Vidal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Walmir Ribeiro fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Zé Roberto Gaúcho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Antônio Pinheiro came out and tried to block the shot, but Zé Roberto Gaúcho slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 45th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Walmir Ribeiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Frederico Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Dragões do Sul getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Gustavo Dias hit a great ball. Renato Velloso charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Renato Velloso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 73 minutes, Frederico Gonçalves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chure and the Dragões do Sul players grew even worse after the yellow card. Antônio Pinheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmir Ribeiro in the 74th minute of the match.
