Zé Roberto Gaúcho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benjamim Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Alexsandro Vidal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiago Favoretto kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. In the 15th minute Zé Roberto Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Breckenfeld saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Dragões do Sul's goalkeeper Alexsandro Vidal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benjamim Castro. Alexsandro Vidal stood somewhat misplaced when Armindo Pimenta came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 20 minute. Gustavo Breckenfeld showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walmir Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Aírton França kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Zé Roberto Gaúcho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Gustavo Breckenfeld tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Timoneira's Benjamim Castro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alexsandro Vidal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jorginho Moura charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jorginho Moura the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marco Tróia took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alexsandro Vidal. Dragões do Sul's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Benjamim Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

With his leg Gustavo Breckenfeld managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when Dragões do Sul's Zé Roberto Gaúcho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Walmir Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Breckenfeld having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Dragões do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Armindo Pimenta came free, but Alexsandro Vidal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Dragões do Sul's Zé Roberto Neiva got a free kick in the 60th minute. Benjamim Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexsandro Vidal having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Walmir Ribeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Timoneira getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Aírton França hit a great ball. Alexsandro Vidal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamim Castro in the 68th minute of the match. Armindo Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexsandro Vidal having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Armindo Pimenta in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexsandro Vidal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benjamim Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aírton França charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
