The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alexsandro Vidal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdir Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 9 played minutes, Fenômenos F.C's Christian Damião shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alexsandro Vidal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fenômenos F.C reached it. Valdir Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Alexsandro Vidal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dragões do Sul's Walmir Ribeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 19 minutes into the match, Zé Roberto Gaúcho notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Fenômenos F.C's Ademar Tinoco. Ademar Tinoco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 22nd minute Walmir Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ademar Tinoco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valdir Amorim struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Alexsandro Vidal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fenômenos F.C. Alexsandro Vidal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso Quadros in the 29th minute of the match. Dragões do Sul's Alexsandro Vidal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdir Amorim in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute Afonso Quadros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexsandro Vidal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raimundo Paiva kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Zé Roberto Gaúcho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Ademar Tinoco made a huge save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Valdir Amorim to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Walmir Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ademar Tinoco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zé Roberto Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ademar Tinoco having to interfere. If Walmir Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th match minute, Fenômenos F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edu de Souza to maneuver through the defense. Ademar Tinoco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmir Ribeiro in the 60th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Valdir Amorim kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alexsandro Vidal. That made the score 1-1 in the 64 minute of play. Afonso Quadros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmir Ribeiro in the 72nd minute of play forced Fenômenos F.C's goalkeeper Ademar Tinoco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walmir Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 79 minutes, Walmir Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dragões do Sul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Walmir Ribeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Zé Roberto Gaúcho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Dragões do Sul booed when Fenômenos F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edu de Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87thth minute of the game Valdir Amorim who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dragões do Sul's Alexsandro Vidal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Dragões do Sul's zone, Afonso Quadros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexsandro Vidal came out of the goal and Afonso Quadros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valdir Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexsandro Vidal having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Fenômenos F.C walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
