UY SCUTI's Claudinei Velasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeferson Santana in the 10th minute of play. With a little luck, UY SCUTI's Claudinei Velasco got control of the ball when Geovanni de Almeida tried to sneak it across the goal line. Reynaldo Arósio hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Almescar's goalkeeper Enio Mazza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 43rd minute, Doni Paes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Carlinhos Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Doni Paes made a kick off. Almir Saldanha charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Almir Saldanha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Almescar getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Almir Saldanha hit a great ball. 54 minutes into the match, Almescar's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardo Pires came free, but Enio Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claudinei Velasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovanni de Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Reynaldo Arósio was shown his second yellow card after 64 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Almescar booed when UY SCUTI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reynaldo Arósio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luiz Eduardo Toledo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 66th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Claudinei Velasco. UY SCUTI's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 70th match minute, Almescar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dito Chaves to maneuver through the defense. Carlinhos Penha succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 83rd playminute. With a little luck, Almescar's Enio Mazza got control of the ball when Felippe Coelho tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 98th minute Geovanni de Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinei Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
