In the 4th match minute, Pompeu SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sydney Moreira to maneuver through the defense. Antônio Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aníbal Brodel in the 10th minute of the match. Armandinho Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Antônio Barbosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Boliche FC's Antônio Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aníbal Brodel in the 15th minute of play. Armandinho Mesquita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Boliche FC booed when Pompeu SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armandinho Mesquita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adalberto Pinheiro's late challenge caught a Pompeu SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adalberto Pinheiro helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Pompeu SS booed when Boliche FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adalberto Pinheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armandinho Mesquita got free with Antônio Barbosa in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 26 minutes into the game, Pompeu SS's Armandinho Mesquita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Antônio Barbosa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Artur de Godoi hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Aníbal Brodel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Antônio Barbosa was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. In the 36th play minute Armandinho Mesquita came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Antônio Barbosa. 2-0. After having played for 40 minutes, Aníbal Brodel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pompeu SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aníbal Brodel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Natanael Sarmento was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Boliche FC's goal looked a bit too open when Armandinho Mesquita came free, but Antônio Barbosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antônio Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aníbal Brodel in the 54th minute of play. When Pompeu SS's Armandinho Mesquita in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Boliche FC's goalie prevented a goal. André Alcântara was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 58th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After having played for 60 minutes, Armandinho Mesquita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pompeu SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armandinho Mesquita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aníbal Brodel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Barbosa having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Aníbal Brodel notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Boliche FC's Antônio Barbosa. Antônio Barbosa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 70th minute, Charles Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aníbal Brodel in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Antônio Barbosa saved Boliche FC from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Natanael Sarmento during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 77 played minutes Boliche FC got a freekick which was hit by Natanael Sarmento. If Armandinho Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the match, Aníbal Brodel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Antônio Barbosa. Boliche FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aníbal Brodel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. If Aníbal Brodel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 90 minutes into the match, Pompeu SS's Armandinho Mesquita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Antônio Barbosa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aníbal Brodel struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Antônio Barbosa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pompeu SS.
