The supporters of Barigui booed when TMG Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Pedro de Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Barigui's zone, Frédson Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Moisés Godoi came out of the goal and Frédson Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adilson Cosme who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of José Carlos Loureiro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 22 played minutes TMG Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Germano Vargas. José Carlos Loureiro acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 23rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Anderson Lopes. In the 27thth minute of the game Severino Couto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barigui's Moisés Godoi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fernando Medeiros was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 33 minutes into the match. The referee gave TMG Futebol Clube a penalty, 35 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Zé Simões, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Barigui's Moisés Godoi. 0-1. Zé Simões took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Moisés Godoi. Barigui's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Adilson Cosme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. During the 43rd minute of the match Germano Vargas completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Germano Vargas a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. José Carlos Loureiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adilson Cosme in the 46th minute. Adilson Cosme could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but José Carlos Loureiro made a huge save. TMG Futebol Clube's defense didn't have a chance, in the 48th minute, when Adilson Cosme scored to the left of an out of position José Carlos Loureiro, making the score, 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adilson Cosme stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. José Carlos Loureiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adilson Cosme in the 84th minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Barigui's goalkeeper Moisés Godoi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Severino Couto. The supporters of TMG Futebol Clube booed when Barigui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antônio de Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. Severino Couto might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Moisés Godoi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Barigui's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nuno Goiano during the 98th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 97th minute, one of TMG Futebol Clube:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for TMG Futebol Clube. In the 99th minute there was a penalty for Barigui. Anderson Lopes stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving José Carlos Loureiro. 2-4. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. TMG Futebol Clube had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
