In the 5th minute Diego Lopez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dênis Rezende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Ubirataia SS getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Ronaldão Borges hit a great ball. 6 minutes into the match, Adilson Cosme had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dênis Rezende. Ubirataia SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adilson Cosme was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Norberto Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moisés Godoi having to interfere. Moisés Godoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norberto Antunes in the 18th minute of the match. Norberto Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adilson Cosme got free with Dênis Rezende in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Norberto Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Norberto Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Norberto Antunes made a kick off. Edmundo Campidelis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 53rdth minute, Moisés Godoi skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of Ubirataia SS booed when Barigui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denílson Vieira didn't get a good kick on the ball. The score was now 2-1. 82 minutes into the game, Barigui's Diego Lopez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
