Rubens Seco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo Campidelis in the 13th minute of the match. After 16 played minutes, Ancori EC's Yan Matos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rubens Seco came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ancori EC reached it. If Tadeu Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Willian Santana might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aníbal Medeiros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Willian Santana ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Marcinho Hames kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rubens Seco. That made the score 1-0 in the 24 minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Tadeu Borges was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GUARULHOS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ancori EC the free kick. After having played for 34 minutes, Marcinho Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GUARULHOS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcinho Fernandes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 36th match minute, GUARULHOS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cláudio Branco to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to GUARULHOS getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Jeremias da Rocha hit a great ball. Richard Trigo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Rubens Seco made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Richard Trigo got free with Rubens Seco in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, Ancori EC's Rubens Seco threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Leopoldo Campidelis, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leopoldo Campidelis to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, GUARULHOS's Haroldo Prado got a free kick in the 51st minute. When Marcinho Fernandes came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the GUARULHOS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcinho Fernandes couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Ancori EC's Aníbal Medeiros got control of the ball when Willian Santana tried to sneak it across the goal line. Richard Trigo struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Rubens Seco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ancori EC. Richard Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Rubens Seco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 68 played minutes Ancori EC got a freekick which was hit by Vânderson Simões. GUARULHOS's Willian Santana got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yan Matos during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Ancori EC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Yan Matos hit a great ball. Haroldo Prado hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Aníbal Medeiros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tadeu Borges in the 94th minute. In the 94th minute, Jerônimo Travassos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
