After a rather tough play, Caratacá FC's Dênis Figueiredo got a free kick in the 5th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Caratacá FC's Ediberto Medeiros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ciro Porto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Kiko Chaves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lapao's supporters rose to their feet, but Kiko Chaves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. 柯棋霆 breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Caratacá FC's 柯棋霆 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kiko Chaves in the 21st minute of play. Ciro Porto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Clemente Albuquerque's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. After 24 minutes, Fernão Fernandez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lapao and the Caratacá FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fernão Fernandez kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Ciro Porto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clemente Albuquerque in the 28th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Lapao's zone, Ediberto Medeiros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciro Porto came out of the goal and Ediberto Medeiros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lapao's Ciro Porto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clemente Albuquerque in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Clemente Albuquerque made a precise shot to the right of Ciro Porto. Lapao's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Ciro Porto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clemente Albuquerque, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clemente Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Ciro Porto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 47 minutes, Kiko Chaves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lapao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kiko Chaves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Caratacá FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kiko Chaves to make the kick off. 柯棋霆 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kiko Chaves, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Caratacá FC's Clemente Albuquerque got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ciro Porto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clemente Albuquerque, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ediberto Medeiros succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 67th playminute. When Clemente Albuquerque came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Caratacá FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clemente Albuquerque couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Lapao's Jano Pinheiro got a free kick in the 73rd minute. After some careless play in the Lapao defense, Ediberto Medeiros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ciro Porto. The Lapao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ciro Porto should have stopped the shot. If Ediberto Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kiko Chaves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 86 minutes into the game, Luiz Gaspar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. 柯棋霆 was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 89 minutes into the match, Fernão Fernandez notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Caratacá FC's 柯棋霆. 柯棋霆 was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Caratacá FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Caratacá FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
