Ciro Porto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Pombal in the 3rd minute of the match. 5 minutes into the match, Buenolandia AD's Rômulo Galvão sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ciro Porto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alfredo Pombal struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Ciro Porto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buenolandia AD. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geovânio Valadares during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tibúrcio Madureira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kiko Chaves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute of the match Samuca Azevedo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tibúrcio Madureira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Kiko Chaves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Tibúrcio Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ciro Porto came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Buenolandia AD's Enio Marinho. But to his dismay, Enio Marinho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Luiz Gaspar who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 42ndth minute tested the skills of Tibúrcio Madureira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Enio Marinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Ciro Porto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kiko Chaves to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Reinaldo Vasconcelos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Buenolandia AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Reinaldo Vasconcelos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ciro Porto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jano Pinheiro's late challenge caught a Buenolandia AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jano Pinheiro helped the player get up and apologised. Jano Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After having played for 63 minutes, Luiz Gaspar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lapao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Gaspar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ciro Porto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enio Marinho in the 68th minute of play. Kiko Chaves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Tibúrcio Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kiko Chaves in the 78th minute of play forced Buenolandia AD's goalkeeper Tibúrcio Madureira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Enio Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Buenolandia AD's Tibúrcio Madureira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Gaspar in the 84th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Buenolandia AD's Vânderson Duarte got a free kick in the 84th minute. Tibúrcio Madureira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Gaspar's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. Fernão Fernandez's late challenge caught a Buenolandia AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernão Fernandez helped the player get up and apologised. After 88 played minutes Lapao got a freekick which was hit by Fernão Fernandez. A collision led to Lapao getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Fernão Fernandez hit a great ball. In the 91st minute, Jardel Loyola sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Lapao's Ciro Porto didn't even have to move. Enio Marinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Enio Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro Porto having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Buenolandia AD left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Lapao.
