Sérgio Abraão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Pedro Santos in the 11th minute of the match. Luiz Guilherme Seco kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. After 20 played minutes Joazeirinho got a freekick which was hit by Celso Rosa. 23 minutes into the match, FlaMengo's goal looked a bit too open when José Pedro Santos came free, but Sérgio Abraão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of FlaMengo booed when Joazeirinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Gonçalves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustavo Falcão kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 26thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Joazeirinho's keeper Benjamim Branco was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. FlaMengo's Sérgio Abraão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oséas de Alcântara in the 29th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Joazeirinho's zone, Guilherme Barbosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamim Branco came out of the goal and Guilherme Barbosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guilherme Barbosa kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After having played for 36 minutes, Oséas de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Joazeirinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oséas de Alcântara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oséas de Alcântara in the 38th minute of play forced FlaMengo's goalkeeper Sérgio Abraão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to FlaMengo getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Guilherme Barbosa hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, José Pedro Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Joazeirinho's supporters rose to their feet, but José Pedro Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sérgio Abraão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 42nd minute, Oséas de Alcântara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Joazeirinho fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Oséas de Alcântara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sérgio Abraão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. The FlaMengo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Joazeirinho were winning 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Guto Trevisan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, FlaMengo's Luiz Guilherme Seco got a free kick in the 54th minute. FlaMengo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 58th minute, when Oséas de Alcântara scored to the left of an out of position Sérgio Abraão, making the score, 1-3. In the 62nd minute, José Pedro Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Pedro Santos in the 64thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sérgio Abraão, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 66thth minute of the game Gustavo Falcão who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Joazeirinho's Benjamim Branco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 67 minutes into the match, José Pedro Santos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sérgio Abraão. FlaMengo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that José Pedro Santos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Sérgio Abraão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oséas de Alcântara in the 72nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Oséas de Alcântara took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Sérgio Abraão to make any attempt to save it. José Pedro Santos succeeded in the game's 78th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-6. When Zé Paulo Ortiz fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FlaMengo's protests and gave Zé Paulo Ortiz a yellow card for diving instead. After 84 played minutes FlaMengo got a freekick which was hit by Zé Paulo Ortiz. Oséas de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FlaMengo's Sérgio Abraão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save FlaMengo from getting a goal against them. The supporters of FlaMengo booed when Joazeirinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Falcão de Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. FlaMengo's Sérgio Abraão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oséas de Alcântara in the 95th minute of play.
