Ulisses de Souza charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ulisses de Souza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, FlaMengo's Ulisses de Souza got a free kick in the 4th minute. FlaMengo's Sérgio Abraão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save FlaMengo from getting a goal against them. In the 5th match minute, FlaMengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Augusto de Barros to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in FlaMengo's zone, Giuseppe Porto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sérgio Abraão came out of the goal and Giuseppe Porto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 10th minute, Fábio Veiga reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sérgio Abraão. The goal made the score 1-0. With a little luck, FlaMengo's Sérgio Abraão got control of the ball when Giuseppe Porto tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 15th minute, Giuseppe Porto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Giuseppe Porto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Abraão having to interfere. In the 22nd minute Guto Trevisan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hílton Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Enrique Guimarães fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paratudal's protests and gave Enrique Guimarães a yellow card for diving instead. After 28 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Paratudal! The referee gave FlaMengo a penalty, 30 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hermínio Britto, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Paratudal's Hílton Carvalho. 1-1. Through an outstanding action, after 33 minutes, Sérgio Abraão successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the match clock showed 79 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Fábio Veiga sped through FlaMengo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sérgio Abraão. When the referee ended the match the Paratudal players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
