Toninho Koehler came out of the goal and Guto Trevisan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sérgio Abraão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafa de Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Rafa de Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taguaracu's supporters rose to their feet, but Rafa de Mendonça was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sérgio Abraão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sérgio Abraão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olívio Cabral in the 19th minute of the match. Taguaracu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FlaMengo the free kick. Rafa de Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Abraão having to interfere. Taguaracu were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
