After a defensive mix-up in Cambuata's zone, Fernandão Novaes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juninho Arruda came out of the goal and Fernandão Novaes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jardel Macedo in the 33rd minute of play forced Straga Racha's goalkeeper Roberto Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roberto Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jardel Macedo in the 34th minute of play. Roberto Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dudu de Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Robinho de Salles was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 37 minutes into the match. Roberto Reis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dudu de Azevedo went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Nilton Vargas kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Dudu de Azevedo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Roberto Reis made a huge save. Dudu de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Reis having to interfere. In the 74th match minute, Cambuata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sabino Leão to maneuver through the defense. Dudu de Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roberto Reis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dudu de Azevedo in the 80th minute. When Dudu de Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Cambuata fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dudu de Azevedo couldn't finish the play. After 96 played minutes Cambuata got a freekick which was hit by Jardel Macedo. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Cambuata walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
