Raimundo de Salles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paulinho Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto da Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30thth minute of the game Artur Medeiros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santana FC's Raimundo de Salles was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 33rd minute of the match Figueirense F.C got a corner. Santana FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Santana FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fausto da Silveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Santana FC's Fausto da Silveira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Paulinho Salles. That made the score 1-0 after 37 minutes of play. After 45 minutes of play, Figueirense F.C's Francisco de Toledo made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Raimundo de Salles was left in no man's land by his defense there!

Francisco de Toledo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Erasmo Linhares might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulinho Salles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulinho Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto da Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Figueirense F.C walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
