José Paulo Melo kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Luiz Paulo Tavares put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Rodriguinho Guedes. In the 8th minute Laércio Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodriguinho Guedes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ciro Ceresso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Ciro Ceresso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goza's supporters rose to their feet, but Ciro Ceresso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Caco Baptista breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 27th minute, Juan Leme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 28thth minute of the game Ciro Ceresso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cordeiros FC's Caco Baptista was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 31 played minutes Cordeiros FC got a freekick which was hit by Edu da Silva. If Laércio Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Juan Leme stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Laércio Fonseca struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Rodriguinho Guedes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cordeiros FC. After 56 played minutes Goza got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Lucas. After having played for 61 minutes, Nuno Lucas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goza's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Lucas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ciro Ceresso who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Caco Baptista when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpected shot in the 71st minute by Nuno Lucas got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 73rd minute, Edu da Silva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cordeiros FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 78th minute Laércio Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodriguinho Guedes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Goza's Juan Leme got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 86 minutes into the match, Ciro Ceresso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Caco Baptista. Cordeiros FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ciro Ceresso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Nuno Lucas charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nuno Lucas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 89 played minutes Goza got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Lucas. The Cordeiros FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
