After a rather tough play, Cordeiros FC's Carlinhos Borges got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Valdir Guedes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 4th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Caco Baptista. Cordeiros FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Hernani Hermes put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Caco Baptista. Laércio Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Adrianinho Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Cordeiros FC's zone, Cléberson Moreno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Caco Baptista came out of the goal and Cléberson Moreno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Caco Baptista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cléberson Moreno, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernani Hermes in the 19th minute of play forced Cordeiros FC's goalkeeper Caco Baptista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cléberson Moreno might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Caco Baptista. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cléberson Moreno ran back to his position shaking his head. When Cléberson Moreno came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Oiticicatuba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cléberson Moreno couldn't finish the play. Oiticicatuba's Adrianinho Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laércio Fonseca in the 30th minute of play. Cléberson Moreno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hernani Hermes hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Laércio Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cordeiros FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Laércio Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrianinho Romero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luiz Paulo Tavares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Adrianinho Romero made a huge save. Hernani Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 42 minutes into the match, Cordeiros FC's goal looked a bit too open when Diamantino Loyola came free, but Caco Baptista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Luiz Paulo Tavares might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adrianinho Romero. With an all-out effort, Oiticicatuba's Caco Baptista threw himself towards the right post 71 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hernani Hermes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
