Erivaldo Arósio's late challenge caught a Mufumbo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmílson do Vale in the 10th minute of play forced Wtnc's goalkeeper Zé Augusto Pimenta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Augusto Pimenta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmílson do Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mufumbo's Ernani da Fonseca got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 16th minute, Edmílson do Vale left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mufumbo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Ernani da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan de Amaral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Thiago Paes made a huge save. In the 26thth minute of the game Alex Siqueira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mufumbo's Thiago Paes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Wtnc's zone, Ernani da Fonseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Augusto Pimenta came out of the goal and Ernani da Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 34 minutes into the game, Ernani da Fonseca cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Zé Augusto Pimenta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Wtnc's zone, Ernani da Fonseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Augusto Pimenta came out of the goal and Ernani da Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 42 minutes into the match, Mufumbo's goalkeeper Thiago Paes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jonathan de Amaral. In the 44th minute of the match Wtnc got a corner. Mufumbo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ivo Sergipano ran over to the corner to take the kick. Wtnc's Ivo Sergipano was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Thiago Paes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alex Siqueira made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Wtnc's Douglas de Mendonça got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Ernani da Fonseca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Zé Augusto Pimenta made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Mufumbo's César Ribeiro got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mufumbo's goalkeeper Thiago Paes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Samuca Gerber was slow to take the kick. During this time Mufumbo's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Mufumbo's Samuca Gerber to fire away a dangerous shot which Zé Augusto Pimenta despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Wtnc's Zé Augusto Pimenta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmílson do Vale in the 98th minute of play.
