The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luís Gustavo Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adalberto Teles having to interfere. After having played for 5 minutes, Luís Gustavo Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ferquim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Gustavo Nunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Ferquim booed when Espinilho EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geraldo Paranaense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Magno Paiva's late challenge caught a Espinilho EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Magno Paiva helped the player get up and apologised. In the 7th minute, Magno Paiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Clemente Soeiro came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Ferquim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clemente Soeiro couldn't finish the play. Adalberto Teles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Gustavo Nunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, José Maria Macedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Espinilho EC's supporters rose to their feet, but José Maria Macedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eduardo Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luís Gustavo Nunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. If Geraldo Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clemente Soeiro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Adalberto Teles came out and tried to block the shot, but Clemente Soeiro slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 54th minute. 57 minutes into the match, Luís Gustavo Nunes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Adalberto Teles, 0-4. When Ferquim's Nuno Lopez in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Espinilho EC's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Espinilho EC's zone, Clemente Soeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adalberto Teles came out of the goal and Clemente Soeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 81 minutes into the game, Ferquim's Clemente Soeiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adalberto Teles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Ferquim's Nuno Lopez got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Clemente Soeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adalberto Teles having to interfere. Espinilho EC's Adalberto Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clemente Soeiro in the 97th minute of play. The Espinilho EC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ferquim were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
