The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Telmo Magalhães was a little too slow when Lucas Goiano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 7th minute. The score was now 1-0. After a rather tough play, Espinilho EC's Luiz Fernando Magalhães got a free kick in the 12th minute. After 14 minutes of play, Green Label United's Sidnei Freitas made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adalberto Teles was left in no man's land by his defense there! 19 minutes into the match, Green Label United's goalkeeper Telmo Magalhães had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agostinho Cavalcante. José Paulo Falcão hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geraldo Medeiros in the 22nd minute of play forced Green Label United's goalkeeper Telmo Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Green Label United getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. José Paulo Falcão hit a great ball. If Sidnei Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Green Label United booed when Espinilho EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Maria Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute Sidnei Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adalberto Teles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geraldo Medeiros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Agostinho Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Geraldo Medeiros made a kick off. Vinícius Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adalberto Teles having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Espinilho EC's Lucas Goiano got a free kick in the 54th minute. Adalberto Teles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sidnei Freitas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Geraldo Medeiros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 59th minute Agostinho Cavalcante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Telmo Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Renan de Senna sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Espinilho EC's Adalberto Teles didn't even have to move. Geraldo Medeiros scored 2-1 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Telmo Magalhães, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lucas Goiano might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Telmo Magalhães. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lucas Goiano ran back to his position shaking his head. Green Label United's Telmo Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agostinho Cavalcante in the 72nd minute of play. Agostinho Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vinícius Barros struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Adalberto Teles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Green Label United. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sidnei Freitas in the 91st minute of play forced Espinilho EC's goalkeeper Adalberto Teles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sidnei Freitas struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Adalberto Teles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Green Label United. Green Label United's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
