The referee showed Cássio Trancoso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Espalhado's Cássio Trancoso got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute, Angelo Donato got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jorginho Lago could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Albertino Travassos made a huge save. Angelo Donato's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sílvio Luiz Madureira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Amargosa's José Vítor Koehler got a free kick in the 16th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geovanni Zanette in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albertino Travassos saved Amargosa from getting behind. In the 18th match minute, Amargosa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gualter Trigo to maneuver through the defense. Eliseu Leme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Albertino Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Espalhado's Geovanni Zanette in 27 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Albertino Travassos guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Albertino Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fábio Abraão in the 33rd minute of play. After having played for 42 minutes, Geovanni Zanette managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Espalhado's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geovanni Zanette was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Jorginho Lago had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Albertino Travassos. Amargosa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorginho Lago was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geovanni Zanette stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Albertino Travassos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovanni Zanette in the 53rd minute of the match. Albertino Travassos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorginho Lago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geovanni Zanette in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albertino Travassos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Geovanni Zanette fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albertino Travassos having to interfere. Albertino Travassos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorginho Lago, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Jorginho Lago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Albertino Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Franklin Favoretto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geovanni Zanette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
