Kléberson de Amaral might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alex Saraiva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kléberson de Amaral ran back to his position shaking his head. If Ulysses Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 15 minutes into the match, Paula's goal looked a bit too open when Kléberson de Amaral came free, but Alex Saraiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oscar Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Délio Mandrak having to interfere. In the 21st match minute, Paula was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Marquez to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ulysses Mendonça got free with Alex Saraiva in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Délio Mandrak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Peres in the 29th minute of the match. Aloísio Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oscar Peres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Délio Mandrak read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. When Paula's Oscar Peres in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Caitau's goalie prevented a goal. 41 minutes into the match, Oscar Peres notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Caitau's Délio Mandrak. Délio Mandrak was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 46 minutes into the game, Aloísio Varela cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Délio Mandrak was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kléberson de Amaral to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, Paula was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Pitta to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute of the match Caitau got a corner. Paula's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Agnaldo Barbosa ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Agnaldo Barbosa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Alex Saraiva quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 75th minute Oscar Peres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Délio Mandrak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 77th minute of the match Paula got a corner. Caitau's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gilberto Pitta ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Dedê Araújo managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. A collision led to Paula getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Dedê Araújo hit a great ball. After 81 played minutes Caitau got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Zilles. In the 81st minute, Gilberto Pitta sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Caitau's Délio Mandrak didn't even have to move. Délio Mandrak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oscar Peres's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. In the 89th minute, Aloísio Varela left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Paula fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Baltazar Saraiva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Délio Mandrak made a huge save. The Caitau supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Paula's performance. The match ended with a win for Paula.
