Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when David Arantes got the match started through his kick off. Aloísio Varela recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Matuapira's zone, Oscar Peres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Váldson Abraão came out of the goal and Oscar Peres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 20th minute, Matuapira's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Oscar Peres fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Aloísio Varela charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aloísio Varela the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 21 played minutes Paula got a freekick which was hit by Aloísio Varela. Claudinei Faria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Alex Saraiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oscar Peres struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Váldson Abraão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paula. Aloísio Varelas short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got Váldson Abraão to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Aloísio Varela could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Váldson Abraão made a huge save. The supporters of Paula booed when Matuapira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Léo Hermes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 34 minutes, Aloísio Varela managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paula's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aloísio Varela was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Matuapira's Váldson Abraão got control of the ball when Aloísio Varela tried to sneak it across the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Claudinei Faria had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alex Saraiva. Paula's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claudinei Faria was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 42nd minute of the match Jefferson Paraense sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Váldson Abraão skillfully saved the ball. Matuapira's Váldson Abraão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Peres in the 46th minute of play. After the first half Matuapira were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oscar Peres made a kick off. If Claudinei Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oscar Peres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Váldson Abraão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aloísio Varela in the 60th minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Baltazar Saraiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Léo Hermes got his second yellow card in the match during the 70th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Matuapira getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Léo Hermes hit a great ball. After having played for 72 minutes, Oscar Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Claudinei Faria could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Alex Saraiva made a huge save. Paula's defense didn't have a chance, in the 82nd minute, when Claudinei Faria scored to the left of an out of position Alex Saraiva, making the score, 0-2. If Aloísio Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dedé Figueiredo during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aloísio Varela in the 93rd minute of play forced Matuapira's goalkeeper Váldson Abraão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Váldson Abraão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Peres in the 95th minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Paula lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
