Allan Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Durval Britto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Agnaldo da Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botucatu FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Agnaldo da Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enio Secco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Agnaldo da Cunha struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Enio Secco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Botucatu FC. In the 23rd minute, Rubinho de Lara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Botucatu FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Salta's zone, Walmyr Velasco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enio Secco came out of the goal and Walmyr Velasco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The attack was good, but when Walmyr Velasco in the 40th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Walmyr Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Agnaldo da Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Enio Secco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Agnaldo da Cunha's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Bruninho Salgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Botucatu FC booed when Salta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fausto Loyola didn't get a good kick on the ball. Salta's Enio Secco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agnaldo da Cunha in the 60th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Agnaldo da Cunha in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Enio Secco saved Salta from getting behind. In the 64th minute, Rubinho de Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enio Secco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agnaldo da Cunha in the 67th minute of the match. Walmyr Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enio Secco having to interfere. Enio Secco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agnaldo da Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Durval Britto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruninho Salgado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mateus Paiva in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Durval Britto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Walmyr Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aílton Lira might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Enio Secco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aílton Lira ran back to his position shaking his head. With his leg Enio Secco managed to avoid a goal in the 91stth minute, when Botucatu FC's Walmyr Velasco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Agnaldo da Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Enio Secco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Botucatu FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Salta.
