Mogeiro SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dráusio Amorim was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. A collision led to Mogeiro SC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Olívio da Silveira hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mogeiro SC's zone, Dráusio Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dito Linares came out of the goal and Dráusio Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 16 minutes into the match, Dende EC's goalkeeper Rodriguinho de Barros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilberto Mumbach. In the 22nd minute Dráusio Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dito Linares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dende EC's goalkeeper Rodriguinho de Barros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rodriguinho de Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Douglas Simão in the 27th minute of play. Douglas Simão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodriguinho de Barros having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Dende EC's goal looked a bit too open when Douglas Simão came free, but Rodriguinho de Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dito Linares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dráusio Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mogeiro SC's zone, Albertinho Mineiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dito Linares came out of the goal and Albertinho Mineiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Douglas Simão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 56 minutes, Pedro Dante mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mogeiro SC and the Dende EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Pedro Dante kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Benjamim Faria kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Rodriguinho de Barros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Douglas Simão's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. The supporters of Mogeiro SC booed when Dende EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo da Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Douglas Simão blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rodriguinho de Barros having to make a save. Rodriguinho de Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Douglas Simão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 76 minutes, Gilberto Mumbach managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mogeiro SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilberto Mumbach was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Douglas Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Rodriguinho de Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Dende EC's Dráusio Amorim dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. If Douglas Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Dende EC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
