Haroldo Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Guilherme Guerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Vinícius Bastos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 14 minutes of play, EC Água Santa's Haroldo Berger made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Guilherme Guerra was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Vinícius Bastos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th match minute, Jao SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Betão Rosa to maneuver through the defense. Elias da Fonseca charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Elias da Fonseca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 34th minute, Elias da Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nelson Hames showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinícius Bastos in the 37th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Jao SC's zone, Haroldo Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guilherme Guerra came out of the goal and Haroldo Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 46 minutes, Humberto Arantes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the EC Água Santa and the Jao SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, EC Água Santa's Humberto Arantes got a free kick in the 47th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nicolas Moura was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Jao SC's zone, Lenílson Andrade stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guilherme Guerra came out of the goal and Lenílson Andrade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nicolas Moura took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Guilherme Guerra. Guilherme Guerra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After a rather tough play, Jao SC's Nelsinho Vieira got a free kick in the 63rd minute. 64 minutes into the match, Jao SC's goal looked a bit too open when Haroldo Berger came free, but Guilherme Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amílton Castro hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Guilherme Guerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Haroldo Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Haroldo Berger scored 3-2 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Guilherme Guerra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Guilherme Guerra came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by EC Água Santa's Lenílson Andrade. But to his dismay, Lenílson Andrade quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Lenílson Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guilherme Guerra having to interfere. A collision led to Jao SC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Laércio Secco hit a great ball. Lenílson Andrade blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Guilherme Guerra having to make a save. After a rather tough play, EC Água Santa's Virgilio Oinaz got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Jao SC's Guilherme Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lenílson Andrade in the 95th minute of play. Nelson Hames made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Luiz Fernando Miranda sent off a good shot on target.
