Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Humberto Arantes's late challenge caught a Martinopole's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Humberto Arantes helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, EC Água Santa's Humberto Arantes got a free kick in the 11th minute. The audience was convinced that Marquinhos Barros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nelson Hames was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Christian Netto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Arantes in the 14th minute of the match. Haroldo Berger took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christian Netto. Christian Netto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. If Lenílson Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Haroldo Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Netto having to interfere. In the 31st minute of the match, Lenílson Andrade got a very nice opportunity to score, but Christian Netto was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 32nd minute, Victor Valle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 34 minutes into the game, Haroldo Berger recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Christian Netto. Haroldo Berger showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Léo Macedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Martinopole's supporters rose to their feet, but Léo Macedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nelson Hames breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Christian Netto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolas Moura in the 40th minute of the match. If Haroldo Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 46 minutes, Erik Quaresma mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Martinopole and the EC Água Santa players grew even worse after the yellow card. Erik Quaresma kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

52 minutes into the match, Lenílson Andrade had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Christian Netto. Martinopole's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lenílson Andrade was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. 56 minutes into the match, EC Água Santa's Lenílson Andrade sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christian Netto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Christian Netto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Haroldo Berger in the 58th minute of the match. André Luiz Lopez charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 72 played minutes, Martinopole's Gernando de Queiroz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nelson Hames came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Martinopole reached it. Christian Netto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lenílson Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christian Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lenílson Andrade in the 81st minute of play. If Léo Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. EC Água Santa's Haroldo Berger got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee ended the match the EC Água Santa players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
