VILA MARIA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simão Motta couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Almir Munhoz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Juventus FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Almir Munhoz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Doni Moreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cássio Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doni Moreira having to interfere. Doni Moreira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Almir Munhoz in the 96th minute. The S.E.R. VILA MARIA players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
