Zé Carlos do Vale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Zé Roberto Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Zé Carlos do Vale sped through Carmopolis SS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Zé Roberto Andrade. If Zé Carlos do Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonas Guedes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Zé Roberto Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Carmopolis SS getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Hernani Moreno hit a great ball. Itaim EC's Jonas Guedes got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rodolfo Sabóia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeferson Prata having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jonas Guedes made a kick off. After 51 played minutes Carmopolis SS got a freekick which was hit by Vítor Saldanha. If Zé Carlos do Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Roberto Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Guedes in the 55th minute of the match. When Valdemar Maranhense fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carmopolis SS's protests and gave Valdemar Maranhense a yellow card for diving instead. Valdemar Maranhense hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Zé Carlos do Vale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Zé Roberto Andrade made a huge save. Itaim EC's Jeferson Prata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Sabóia in the 66th minute of play. Rodolfo Sabóia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Jeferson Prata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Carmopolis SS reached it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vítor Saldanha in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jeferson Prata saved Itaim EC from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Belchior Souza during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Itaim EC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Belchior Souza hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute Valdemar Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeferson Prata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Vítor Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th match minute, Itaim EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdo Bezerra to maneuver through the defense. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Itaim EC's goalkeeper Jeferson Prata, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jeferson Prata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hernani Moreno in the 97th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Itaim EC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
