Júlio Cosme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 5th minute Benjamin da Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agnaldo Gaúcho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 5 minutes into the match, Benjamin da Cunha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Agnaldo Gaúcho. Taiacui AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Benjamin da Cunha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After having played for 8 minutes, Gil Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taiacui AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gil Silveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Taiacui AD's Gil Silveira got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adalberto Ceresso might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Álvaro Torres. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adalberto Ceresso ran back to his position shaking his head. 14 minutes into the match, SSA FUTEBOL CLUBE's goalkeeper Álvaro Torres had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gil Silveira. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by SSA FUTEBOL CLUBE's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rodrigo Cunha was slow to take the kick. During this time Taiacui AD's players had a chance to rest. Álvaro Torres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adalberto Ceresso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emílio Félix got free with Álvaro Torres in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adalberto Ceresso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Álvaro Torres having to interfere. After having played for 38 minutes, Adalberto Ceresso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taiacui AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adalberto Ceresso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 39th match minute, SSA FUTEBOL CLUBE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adilson Coutinho to maneuver through the defense. Gil Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Álvaro Torres having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adalberto Ceresso made a kick off. Taiacui AD's Adalberto Ceresso got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 53 minutes into the game, one of SSA FUTEBOL CLUBE:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Taiacui AD a penalty, 54 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rodrigo Cunha, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SSA FUTEBOL CLUBE's Álvaro Torres. 2-1. Álvaro Torres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gil Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 59 minutes, Zé Freire managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taiacui AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Freire was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Júlio Cosme came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the SSA FUTEBOL CLUBE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júlio Cosme couldn't finish the play. Álvaro Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adalberto Ceresso in the 69th minute of play. SSA FUTEBOL CLUBE's Álvaro Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gil Silveira in the 72nd minute of play. Taiacui AD's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rodrigo Cunha in the 76th minute. 79 minutes into the match, Taiacui AD's Adalberto Ceresso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Álvaro Torres narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Adalberto Ceresso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Guga Botelho came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Taiacui AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guga Botelho couldn't finish the play. Gil Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Álvaro Torres having to interfere. Gil Silveira struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Álvaro Torres didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taiacui AD. SSA FUTEBOL CLUBE's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
