After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, José Augusto Meirelles managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 19thth minute of the game José Augusto Meirelles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Quaraci FC's Sílvio Luiz Faria was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Quaraci FC's Cafu Miranda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Denílson Simão narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Humberto Machado got free with Sílvio Luiz Faria in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 25thth minute of the game José Augusto Meirelles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Quaraci FC's Sílvio Luiz Faria was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Kléberson Donatello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Denílson Simão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kléberson Donatello, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 34 minutes into the match, Cafu Miranda notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Alvarenga's Denílson Simão. Denílson Simão was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cafu Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Alvarenga were awarded a corner in the 45th minute after Quaraci FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Inácio Vander took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Inácio Vander got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sílvio Luiz Faria quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After having played for 48 minutes, Arí Cardozo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alvarenga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arí Cardozo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Augusto Meirelles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sílvio Luiz Faria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Augusto Meirelles in the 52nd minute of the match. Quaraci FC's Sílvio Luiz Faria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Augusto Meirelles in the 75th minute of play.
