Morro Agudo Sport Club's Amílton Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Guayanazes SC's zone, Juninho Pitta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cléberson Breckenfeld came out of the goal and Juninho Pitta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Paulo Messias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robinho Loyola in the 16th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the game, Carlos Eduardo Netto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guayanazes SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Morro Agudo Sport Club the free kick. Pedro Paulo Messias didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Robinho Loyola went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Guayanazes SC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Nicolas Nóbrega hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute of the match Arthur Moreira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cléberson Breckenfeld skillfully saved the ball. Morro Agudo Sport Club's Pedro Paulo Messias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Nóbrega in the 40th minute of play. Guayanazes SC's Robinho Loyola got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robinho Loyola in the 47th minute of play forced Morro Agudo Sport Club's goalkeeper Pedro Paulo Messias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Robinho Loyola was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Jonathan Koehler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 58th minute, Guayanazes SC's Robinho Loyola dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. In the 66th minute Robinho Loyola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Paulo Messias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Juninho Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute, Diamantino Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arthur Moreira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cléberson Breckenfeld. Guayanazes SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 72nd minute, Ramiro Berger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amílton Lara might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cléberson Breckenfeld. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amílton Lara ran back to his position shaking his head. Cléberson Breckenfeld took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amílton Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robinho Loyola in the 86th minute of play forced Morro Agudo Sport Club's goalkeeper Pedro Paulo Messias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Morro Agudo Sport Club's Pedro Paulo Messias got control of the ball when Tiaguinho Urbano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Robinho Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Pedro Paulo Messias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
