Samuel Valladares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Frank Hoffmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Aveiro's zone, Cafu Simões stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilberto Perez came out of the goal and Cafu Simões tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Fabrício Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Suassurana's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabrício Sena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilberto Perez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Frank Hoffmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Valladares, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Gilberto Perez came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Suassurana's Fabrício Sena. But to his dismay, Fabrício Sena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Aveiro's Gilberto Perez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabrício Sena in the 21st minute of play. Gilberto Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cafu Simões in the 29th minute of the match. Fabrício Sena took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gilberto Perez. Gilberto Perez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cafu Simões in the 41st minute of play forced Aveiro's goalkeeper Gilberto Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cafu Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The supporters of Suassurana booed when Aveiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58thth minute of the game Cafu Simões who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Aveiro's Gilberto Perez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fabrício Sena who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Gilberto Perez when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gilberto Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cafu Simões in the 60th minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, Suassurana's Cafu Simões sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilberto Perez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Aveiro's goal looked a bit too open when Cafu Simões came free, but Gilberto Perez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabrício Senas short, quick shot in the 65thth minute got Gilberto Perez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 67th minute Cafu Simões shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Aveiro's Gilberto Perez got control of the ball when Fabrício Sena tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Aveiro's Marcel Valladares got a free kick in the 75th minute. If Fabrício Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hélder Passos charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hélder Passos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 82nd match minute, Aveiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hélder Passos to maneuver through the defense. Suassurana's Oséias de Amaral couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Aveiro. Frank Hoffmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuel Valladares in the 87th minute of the match. If Tomás Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Aveiro supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Suassurana's performance. The match ended with a win for Suassurana.
