Donato Breckenfeld fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Perez having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Aveiro's Tomás Pinheiro got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 11th minute Hermínio Arantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tomás Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Caapiranga SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aveiro the free kick. Tomás Pinheiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Jorge de Lara made a huge save. In the 38th minute, Aveiro's Tomás Pinheiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jorge de Lara. Jorge de Lara yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Tomás Pinheiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Jorge de Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Hélder Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Aveiro's Hélder Passos got his second yellow card of the match in the 56th minute. The referee ordered Hélder Passos off the ground. In the 57th minute, Hélder Passos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, Caapiranga SC's Gilberto Perez threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hermínio Arantes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The corner led Caapiranga SC's Richard Ribeiro to fire away a dangerous shot which Gilberto Perez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Aveiro's goal looked a bit too open when Hermínio Arantes came free, but Gilberto Perez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilberto Perez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermínio Arantes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Donato Breckenfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 75th minute, Hermínio Arantes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomás Pinheiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Jorge de Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aveiro's Gilberto Perez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermínio Arantes in the 80th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hermínio Arantes in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilberto Perez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gilberto Perez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Donato Breckenfeld in the 87th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Caapiranga SC's goal looked a bit too open when Tomás Pinheiro came free, but Jorge de Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Tomás Pinheiro came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Aveiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomás Pinheiro couldn't finish the play. Aveiro's Gilberto Perez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Aveiro from getting a goal against them. Aveiro's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
