After 15 played minutes Piauna EC got a freekick which was hit by Caco Soares. In the 16th minute Marcus Meirelles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durvalino Mandrak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Renato Pena's late challenge caught a Inhacora EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo Renato Pena helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th minute, Paulo Renato Pena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 20 minutes, Digo Vidal made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Piauna EC's Durvalino Mandrak tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Piauna EC's zone, Digo Vidal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Durvalino Mandrak came out of the goal and Digo Vidal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Durvalino Mandrak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cícero do Nascimento's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Durvalino Mandrak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Meirelles in the 39th minute of the match. Jairo Macedo had great luck who in the 40thth minute grab hold of the ball when Sílvio Luiz Campidelis from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Digo Vidal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Durvalino Mandrak read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Charles Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcus Meirelles made a kick off. Piauna EC's Durvalino Mandrak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Meirelles in the 51st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Marcus Meirelles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Inhacora EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcus Meirelles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Durvalino Mandrak breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Zé Carlos Barral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Durvalino Mandrak was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Sílvio Luiz Campidelis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jairo Macedo having to interfere. Durvalino Mandrak was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Marcus Meirelles showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 78 minute of play. Jairo Macedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Luiz Campidelis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Digo Vidal got free with Durvalino Mandrak in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcus Meirelles struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Durvalino Mandrak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Inhacora EC. The supporters of Inhacora EC booed when Piauna EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Piauna EC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Inhacora EC's performance. The match ended with a win for Inhacora EC.
