Canarias EC's Carlos de Almeida suffered a sore thigh after 9 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 9 minutes, Zé Tasso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Icaissara SC and the Canarias EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Canarias EC booed when Icaissara SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Tasso didn't get a good kick on the ball. 15 minutes into the game, Zé de Lima was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Icaissara SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Canarias EC the free kick. The supporters of Canarias EC booed when Icaissara SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé de Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the game, João Cardozo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Jano Nascimento was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 27th minute, Zé Tasso reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jean Figueiredo. The goal made the score 1-2. Jano Nascimento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Cardozo in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Cacá Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Abelardo Vander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean Figueiredo having to interfere. Jano Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Cardozo in the 38th minute of the match. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zé Tasso was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Canarias EC's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Tasso came free, but Jean Figueiredo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jean Figueiredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Tasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 62nd minute, Cacá Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If João Cardozo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Augusto Lago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Jano Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Icaissara SC's Osmar Ferreira got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 74th minute, João Cardozo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jano Nascimento was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. After 78 minutes of play, Icaissara SC's Zé Tasso made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jean Figueiredo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jano Nascimento made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when João Cardozo sent off a good shot on target. João Cardozo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Jano Nascimento made a huge save. Icaissara SC's Jano Nascimento proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Icaissara SC from getting a goal against them. João Cardozo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jano Nascimento firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 92nd match minute, Icaissara SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elano Sarmento to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Abelardo Vander managed to get in a good position for a shot. Icaissara SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Abelardo Vander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jean Figueiredo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
