Arrombadores Sport Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Dedê Vieira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aílton Lago took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 48th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pedrão do Valle. Arrombadores Sport Club's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guilherme Silveira was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ferreira's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fabiano Donato was slow to take the kick. During this time Arrombadores Sport Club's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Fabiano Donato almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ferreira's Baltazar Melo did a great save.
