The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Marcel Veloso was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 8th minute. C.C.A.A. Guapira's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Marcel Veloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 12 minutes into the match, Víktor Baiano dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dino Negri, 1-0. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Víktor Baiano took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Dino Negri to make any attempt to save it. Marcel Veloso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Dino Negri made a huge save. Dino Negri didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 21st minute, which inside left pole to 3-0. Víktor Baiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Dino Negri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the game, Víktor Baiano recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dino Negri. Víktor Baiano showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. With a little luck, Umary's Dino Negri got control of the ball when Marcel Veloso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcel Veloso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dino Negri read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. If Víktor Baiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Patrick Batista to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Umary's Dida Valle dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-1. The supporters of Umary booed when C.C.A.A. Guapira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manfredo Meirelles didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Umary's Magno Linares tried to score from far away in the 55th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Yuri Santos fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Umary's protests and gave Yuri Santos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 60th minute, Víktor Baiano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dino Negri was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. After 65 played minutes C.C.A.A. Guapira got a freekick which was hit by Abel Hermes. Dino Negri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcel Veloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Víktor Baiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Germano Valladares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Batista, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. C.C.A.A. Guapira walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
