After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Benjamim Palmeira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itumbiarense's supporters rose to their feet, but Benjamim Palmeira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walmyr Loyola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Manoel Saraiva charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manoel Saraiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 10th match minute, Itumbiarense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ezequiel Garcia to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Alberto Perez during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Itumbiarense getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Carlos Alberto Perez hit a great ball. Bruno Aguiar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Fernandez in the 16th minute. Enio do Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Walmyr Loyola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walmyr Loyola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamim Palmeira in the 21st minute of the match. Itumbiarense's Bruno Aguiar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Itumbiarense from getting a goal against them. Itumbiarense were furious when Alex Vaz was red carded, 27 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 26 minutes into the game, one of Itumbiarense:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Telmo Moraes placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After having played for 31 minutes, Pedro Fernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guarulhos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Fernandez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 34 minutes into the match, Guarulhos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Enio do Nascimento came free, but Walmyr Loyola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Geraldo Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Pedro Fernandez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guarulhos FC's goalkeeper Walmyr Loyola, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Enio do Nascimento made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Pedro Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Aguiar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geraldo Ramos took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bruno Aguiar. Bruno Aguiar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Guarulhos FC's Geraldo Ramos got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alex Senna's late challenge caught a Guarulhos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alex Senna helped the player get up and apologised. In the 69th match minute, Itumbiarense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Senna to maneuver through the defense. Bruno Aguiar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bruno Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geraldo Ramos in the 79th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Itumbiarense's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Fernandez came free, but Bruno Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Pedro Fernandez notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Itumbiarense's Bruno Aguiar. Bruno Aguiar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 91 minutes of play, Guarulhos FC's Pedro Fernandez made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bruno Aguiar was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Guarulhos FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Itumbiarense had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
