Seberi's Benê Marquez got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 7 minutes into the match, Niterói FC's goalkeeper Artur Dias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benê Marquez. In the 11th match minute, Niterói FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgílio Lira to maneuver through the defense. Sílvio Luiz Pontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitinho Miranda, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Niterói FC's goalkeeper Artur Dias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benê Marquez. Vitinho Miranda took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sílvio Luiz Pontes. Sílvio Luiz Pontes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Benê Marquez struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Artur Dias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Seberi. After a rather tough play, Seberi's Samuca Novaes got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Seberi's Sílvio Luiz Pontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitinho Miranda in the 34th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Eduardo Zanette in the 42nd minute of play forced Niterói FC's goalkeeper Artur Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Eduardo Zanette received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Artur Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Robinho Faria kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the match, Niterói FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Eduardo Zanette came free, but Artur Dias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Eduardo Zanette stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Niterói FC's Artur Dias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeferson Tasso in the 51st minute of play. Artur Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Eduardo Zanette, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vinícius Salgado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sílvio Luiz Pontes having to make a save. Vitinho Miranda was extremely unlucky when he, in the 61st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Eduardo Zanette in the 68th minute of play forced Niterói FC's goalkeeper Artur Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Seberi's Sílvio Luiz Pontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitinho Miranda in the 71st minute of play. Luiz Eduardo Zanette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 78 minutes, Benê Marquez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Seberi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benê Marquez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luiz Eduardo Zanette's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Artur Dias read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Benê Marquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luiz Eduardo Zanette received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Artur Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
