The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Frank Santana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Horácio Saraiva having to make a save. If Rodriguinho Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kiko Souto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Vianna having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Geary FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 15th minute. Penalty! In the 17th minute there was a penalty for Tabuado. Genílson Alcântara stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Celso Vianna. 0-1. Horácio Saraiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodriguinho Freire in the 21st minute of the match. Horácio Saraiva didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Frank Santana went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. A hard shot 25 in the game by Frank Santana from a close distance when the talented Horácio Saraiva managed to make a qualified save. Tabuado's players were relieved. In the 39th minute of the match Genílson Alcântara sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celso Vianna skillfully saved the ball. In the 39th match minute, Geary FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válter Araújo to maneuver through the defense. Tabuado's Gonçalo Linhares got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 44th minute, Gonçalo Linhares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Celso Vianna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonçalo Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kiko Souto was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Rodriguinho Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horácio Saraiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horácio Saraiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodriguinho Freire, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Frank Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gonçalo Linhares who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Celso Vianna when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Frank Santana might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Horácio Saraiva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Santana ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 74th minute, Caio Severo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 76th play minutes Rodriguinho Freire shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Horácio Saraiva and just under the crossbar into goal. Frank Santana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Horácio Saraiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
