An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Vargas in the 12th minute of play forced SitioUruoca's goalkeeper Osvaldinho Messias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Missoes's Cristiano Vargas in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dagoberto Prata got free with Adrianinho Camargo in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dagoberto Prata struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Adrianinho Camargo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SitioUruoca. Osvaldinho Messias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristiano Vargas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Missoes booed when SitioUruoca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. Osvaldinho Messias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Vargas, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. If Ricardo Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 47 minutes into the game, Missoes's Fábio Furtado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Osvaldinho Messias made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ricardo Ramalho made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Cristiano Vargas fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Osvaldinho Messias, passed just outside the right post. Missoes's Adrianinho Camargo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Ramalho in the 59th minute of play. Adrianinho Camargo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dagoberto Prata in the 64th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in SitioUruoca's zone, Cristiano Vargas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osvaldinho Messias came out of the goal and Cristiano Vargas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 71 minutes into the game, Percival França was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SitioUruoca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Missoes the free kick. In the 72nd minute of the match Mário Rocha shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Osvaldinho Messias showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 75 minutes into the game, one of SitioUruoca:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Osvaldinho Messias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Vargas in the 82nd minute of play. If Cristiano Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristiano Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldinho Messias having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Ricardo Ramalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Osvaldinho Messias made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Fábio Furtado sent off a good shot on target.
