Eugênio Novaes started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd match minute, Taciua was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Germano Magalhães to maneuver through the defense. Valdir Nóbrega's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ernesto Soeiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Nuno Campidelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Sidnei Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Campidelis in the 13th minute of play forced Taciua's goalkeeper Sidnei Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th match minute, Taciua was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugênio Novaes to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Taciua's Germano Magalhães got a free kick in the 16th minute. A hard shot 20 in the game by Valdir Nóbrega from a close distance when the talented Ernesto Soeiro managed to make a qualified save. Sirigado's players were relieved. Eugênio Novaes struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Ernesto Soeiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taciua. If Eugênio Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Ernesto Soeiro managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Taciua's Valdir Nóbrega fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ernesto Soeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugênio Novaes in the 25th minute of the match. Carlos Gomes's late challenge caught a Taciua's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Gomes helped the player get up and apologised. Carlos Gomes kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Germano Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ernesto Soeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugênio Novaes in the 34th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Eugênio Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taciua's supporters rose to their feet, but Eugênio Novaes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernesto Soeiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 40th minute, Carlos Gomes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ernesto Soeiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valdir Nóbrega in the 46th minute. 48 minutes in the game, Eugênio Novaes fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ernesto Soeiro having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nuno Campidelis was the one to do the kick off. Taciua's Valdir Nóbrega got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 58th minute, Eugênio Novaes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ernesto Soeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugênio Novaes, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Carlos Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidnei Montenegro having to interfere. Sidnei Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno Campidelis in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 65th minute Valdir Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Soeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sidnei Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Campidelis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eugênio Novaes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Soeiro having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Taciua's Rogério Bueno got a free kick in the 80th minute. Germano Magalhães kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Sidnei Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Campidelis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Nuno Campidelis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nuno Campidelis might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sidnei Montenegro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nuno Campidelis ran back to his position shaking his head. The Sirigado players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Taciua from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
