Alfenense Futebol Clube's Jorge Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Alfenense Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them. Dedê da Silva might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorge Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dedê da Silva ran back to his position shaking his head. Fausto Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardinho Quaresma, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Abelardo Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alfenense Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Abelardo Peres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fausto Carvalho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 34 minutes into the match, Alfenense Futebol Clube's Bernardinho Quaresma sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fausto Carvalho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jorge Amorim made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Carlos Alberto Corrêa sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dedê da Silva to strike the kick off in the second half. When Erasmo Ribeiro came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Itauninha SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erasmo Ribeiro couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Itauninha SC booed when Alfenense Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Percy Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute Abelardo Peres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Alberto Corrêa kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Abelardo Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dedê da Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abelardo Peres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 74 minutes into the game, Carlos Alberto Corrêa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Itauninha SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alfenense Futebol Clube the free kick. Carlos Alberto Corrêa hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Alfenense Futebol Clube's Percy Penha got a free kick in the 83rd minute. After 84 played minutes, Itauninha SC's Kléberson Macedo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jorge Amorim came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Itauninha SC reached it. After 85 played minutes Alfenense Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Adrianinho Nunes. After having played for 86 minutes, Erasmo Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itauninha SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erasmo Ribeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dedê da Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Jorge Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th match minute, Alfenense Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lenílson Souto to maneuver through the defense. Dedê da Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Jorge Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erasmo Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Amorim having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Alfenense Futebol Clube's Lenílson Souto got a free kick in the 98th minute. Itauninha SC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
