Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Jurubeba's Reynaldo Costa started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte de Salles in the 4th minute of play forced Jurubeba's goalkeeper David Toscano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 5th match minute, Jurubeba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reynaldo Costa to maneuver through the defense. Eriberto de Sousa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Benjamim Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 11th minute, Eriberto de Sousa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 12th minute Laerte de Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Toscano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamim Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Toscano having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonel Pombal in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg David Toscano saved Jurubeba from getting behind. Republica's Benjamim Castro got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eriberto de Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. David Toscano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Republica's Eriberto de Sousa got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Clóvis de Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Barral having to interfere. Leonel Pombal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Republica's Leonel Pombal in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jurubeba's goalie prevented a goal. Leonel Pombal struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. David Toscano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Republica. Eriberto de Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. David Toscano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Waldir Toledo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of David Toscano. Jurubeba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Waldir Toledo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Republica's Benjamim Castro got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Jurubeba's Victor Barral threw himself towards the right post 48 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Reynaldo Costa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 48th play minute Reynaldo Costa came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Victor Barral. 1-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leonel Pombal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. David Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eriberto de Sousa in the 55th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Jurubeba's Leonel de Carvalho got a free kick in the 57th minute. A collision led to Jurubeba getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Téo Valadares hit a great ball. When Republica's Leonel Pombal in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jurubeba's goalie prevented a goal. David Toscano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leonel Pombal's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. In the 74th minute Eriberto de Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Toscano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Toscano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eriberto de Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Benjamim Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 81 minutes into the match, Jurubeba's goalkeeper David Toscano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dráusio Madureira. Laerte de Salles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. David Toscano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eriberto de Sousa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Toscano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Republica's Benjamim Castro got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 89 minutes, Leonel Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Republica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonel Pombal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laerte de Salles got free with David Toscano in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Republica were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
