In the 13th match minute, A La Madrid Barça was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Léo Arósio to maneuver through the defense. Joélson Mazza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastião Leite in the 15th minute of the match. If Sebastião Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abelardo Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Kléberson Ribeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wágner Lopes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Álvaro Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

A La Madrid Barça's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave XV de Jaú the free kick. After a rather tough play, A La Madrid Barça's Washington Lopez got a free kick in the 63rd minute. 69 minutes into the game, Álvaro Tasso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Joélson Mazza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sebastião Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joélson Mazza having to interfere. Sebastião Leite might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joélson Mazza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastião Leite ran back to his position shaking his head. Álvaro Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Joélson Mazza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Baltazar Matorin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 91 minutes, Sebastião Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. XV de Jaú's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastião Leite was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 92 played minutes A La Madrid Barça got a freekick which was hit by Baltazar Matorin. A La Madrid Barça's Joélson Mazza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save A La Madrid Barça from getting a goal against them.
